Properties of Transparent Quartz Crucibles

TOQUARTZ transparent quartz crucibles are manufactured using high-purity silica, creating laboratory vessels with exceptional performance characteristics.

Operating temperature exceeds 1100°C with minimal thermal expansion (coefficient of 0.56×10-6/°C at 25-300°C). This superior thermal shock resistance makes these crucibles ideal for rapid heating and cooling cycles common in research and testing environments.

Transparence optique

Excellent light transmission properties with 92-93% transparency in the visible spectrum (450-780nm) at 1.0mm thickness. This optical clarity allows for direct visual monitoring of reactions and processes inside the crucible, critical for optical instrument development.

Resistant to most acids, bases, and corrosive environments. Only hydrofluoric acid and hot phosphoric acid will cause significant degradation, making these crucibles suitable for a wide range of chemical reactions and analytical processes.

A: TOQUARTZ® transparent quartz crucibles can operate at temperatures up to 1100°C continuously. The strain point is 1100°C, the annealing point is 1180°C, and the softening point is 1630°C. For applications requiring temperatures above 1100°C, please consult with our technical team for specific recommendations.

A: TOQUARTZ® Quartz crucibles are resistant to most chemicals but are attacked by hydrofluoric acid (HF) and hot phosphoric acid. Alkali metals and their oxides can also react with quartz at high temperatures. For applications involving these substances, alternative materials should be considered.

A: Selection depends on your specific application requirements. Consider: (1) Temperature range, (2) Chemical environment, (3) Required capacity/dimensions, (4) Purity requirements, and (5) Optical properties needed.
